Does my phone support eSIM?

Most iPhones from XS/XR onwards, many Samsung Galaxy models (S20+), Google Pixel (3+), and other recent flagships support eSIM. Check Settings → Mobile/Cellular → Add eSIM or your manufacturer specs.

How do I activate the Balkans eSIM?

After purchase, you receive a QR code by email. Scan it from Settings → Mobile/Cellular → Add eSIM. Keep the eSIM installed, then enable mobile data on arrival. You may need to turn on Data Roaming for the eSIM line.

Can I keep my main SIM for calls and SMS?

Yes. Use the eSIM for mobile data and keep your physical SIM/eSIM primary line for calls and SMS. Your WhatsApp number stays on your main line.

What happens at country borders?

The eSIM switches to a partner network in each country. A 1–2 minute delay is normal. If data does not work after 5 minutes, toggle Airplane mode or manually reselect the network.

Will it work on islands, coastlines, and rural areas?

Tourist hubs and major coastal towns usually have good LTE. Coverage can drop in mountains, remote beaches, and on ferries. Download offline maps before remote drives or hikes.

When does plan validity start?

Typically when the eSIM first connects to a supported network after installation (not at checkout). You can install before departure and start using data when you arrive.

Can I use hotspot / tethering?

In most cases yes. Hotspot support depends on the specific plan and the device settings, but standard laptop/tablet sharing is commonly allowed.

What if I have no signal or no internet?

First: toggle Airplane mode, confirm the eSIM line is selected for Mobile Data, and enable Data Roaming for that eSIM. If needed, set network selection to Automatic or try manual selection of a local partner network.

Quick no‑signal checklist

  • • Select the eSIM line for Mobile Data
  • • Enable Data Roaming for the eSIM
  • • Toggle Airplane mode for 10 seconds
  • • Switch Network Selection to Automatic
